MISSION STATEMENT
The Department of Public Works' mission is to provide reliable, responsive, and cost efficient public works services; whether engaged in routine operations or emergency response; in ways that promote the environment, advance quality of life, and protect the health and safety of City of Oneida residents and day populous without regard to race, color, creed, national origin, personality, economic status, or social stature.
The Department of Public Works is responsible for

Responsibilities of the engineering office include;

Civil engineering design
and review
• Infrastructure management

Public works budget
preparation and oversight
• Public
works project oversight
•
Contract administration
• Personnel management
• State and Federal agency
permitting
• Mayor /Common Council coordination
Responsibilities of the public works include;
• Temporary roadway repairs • Roadway snow and ice removal
•
Street cleaning
• Traffic signage repair and installation
•
Storm sewer pipe and inlet
maintenance
• Drainage channel maintenance
•
Dam maintenance
• Right-of-way tree trimming
•
Sanitary sewer
pipe and manhole
maintenance
• Green waste removal
• Pesticide application • Vehicle and equipment maintenance
• Sidewalk repair damaged by City Trees • Underground utility mark-outs
